Fresh Local & Regional Ingredients

The Granite Belt and surrounding region has an amazing range of seasonal  produce. Cooking Classes

Really It’s Just Yogurt

Making yogurt with this little powerhouse that costs less than $1.20 per litre to make. From labneh, dips, flat bread, eastern marinated lamb and vegetables to beautiful dessert all made with yogurt and easily and quickly make at home. Coconut yogurt which is always a favourite.

  • Course duration is 4 hours.

Asian Tapas

Ever wanted to make your own dumplings or pot stickers? how about Yakitori Chicken prawn and chive pot-stickers with black vinegar, Korean fried chicken wings, spring rolls  with Nuoc cham sauce just to name a few of the wonderful dishes you will be preparing in this cooking class.  This class is a favorite and always great fun!

Wild Fermentation 101

Want to do you gut a favor? I love fermentation and I want you to also.  In this class you will learn how to make traditional Kraut, Kim chi, Beetroot kavas. Take home a jar of your hand made kraut to get you started. We will finish the class with samples of wild ferments in a shared meal!

Handmade Pasta I

Spend an afternoon  hands on learning learning how to make homemade pasta. We will then create spaghetti, fettuccine, pappardelle, lasagna, corzetti, colored pasta and pasta sauces that are both easy and taste amazing.  Come learn just how easy it really is.

Cannoli Making Class

Our Cannoli cooking class is perfect for beginners and experienced cooks alike, and is a great way to spend an afternoon/ morning with friends or family. So come and join us for a fun and tasty experience at Cooked from Scratch cooking classes!

Tapas & Paella

Ever wondered how to cook Spanish tapas and paella.  In this hands on class you will create dish that will impress family and friends.  We will create potato tortilla, marinated olives & cheese, meatballs, garlic prawns to start with then you will prepare the paella.  Chicken, chorizo,  vegetable you will learn different ways to adapt this comfort food to suit your guests.

Homemade
Gnocchi & Gnudi

Who doesn’t love homemade pasta gnocchi & gnudi with its beautiful textures and wonderful mouth feel? With a few simple ingredients we will have you cooking like an Italian Nona and sharing wonderful meals with family & friends.

Handmade Pasta II Filled Pasta

Spend an afternoon in this hands on class learning how to make filled pasta. Learn how to make  beautiful ravioli, tortellini  and tortelloni with  tasty seasonal fillings and sauces.  All served with a glass of local vino to wash it down… whats not to enjoy

Instant Pot & Pressure Cooking

Here at Sabo’s, we love using our Instapot so much we have three! If you have ever wanted to learn how to cook with pressure, then this is the class for you. Broccoli soup in minutes, lamb shanks that melt of the bone, melting ribs, chicken wings, cheesecakes. Come see for yourself they really are amazing….. the list goes on and on, these pots are truly the BEST!!!

Gozney Pizza Oven

Nothing tastes better than homemade and Cooked from Scratch pizza!!  In this hands on class we will be cooking in the Gozney oven  making some fantastic pizzas and toppings.  In this class we will be creating pizzas from scratch.

Supper Club 2024

Friday night once a month we have a  themed menu taking your taste buds on a monthly journey of changing cuisines.  We will be traveling from Hungary, Turkey, Middle East, Asian, European to name a few.  Along the way I will be sharing some of my favorite chefs & their cookbooks / recipes.  Come join us on a culinary experience during 2023!

Here at Sabo’s on Severn we offer a one of a kind culinary experience. Our classes are a fun and welcoming environment with hands on experience, proper cooking principles and professional culinary techniques. We use fresh ingredients from local farmers as well as Sabo’s herb garden.
